Craving adventure a young woman, Riley, escapes her abusive father to sail a rickety boat across the high seas. When one night a storm forces her to drop anchor at the deserted Rogue Islands, she encounters the ghost of Josh, dead for as long as he can remember. He gets trapped inside Riley’s head and is unable to let go until she helps him remember his life. And death. To make it out without losing her mind, Riley will have to uncover the darkest secrets of the islands.
Ghost on the Shore is a story exploration game where you play as Riley in the first person. As you explore the Rogue Islands on foot and by boat, you have plenty of time to talk to Josh and get to know him. In these dialogues you make irrevocable choices that shape the bond you’re creating, which will ultimately influence the outcome of the game.
As a team you and Josh discover the old islanders’ belongings and the stories behind them. Through environmental storytelling you get a specific sense of what life was like on these islands before people started leaving. As Riley puts it all together, she comes to understand how a family’s history led to Josh’ tragic death.

After successfully launching Marie´s Room, an award winning story exploration game, Dagmar and Kenny started their own game studio: like Charlie.
Writer Dagmar remembered a vivid dream in which she’d died, still drifting through the rooms of her house watching the people who’d remained behind. She stayed with them every night, wishing for them to feel her presence. That feeling of not being seen anymore, of having been torn away from the people you love without the hope of ever returning to them … became the inspiration for Ghost on the Shore.
Raw nostalgia, a longing for what used to be. And the confrontation with the fatal mistakes that brought you here, for which you can only atone. These emotions are a universal language, emotions that Ghost on the Shore will evoke.
About like Charlie
Kenny and Dagmar met at a printing and publishing house where they worked together on a Flemish video adventure game for children. Their collaboration felt so natural, they decided daytime hours weren't enough: they would take on a side project: Marie's Room. About 18 months later the successful release of the game exceeded all expectations: 200.000 downloads. What else was there to do but start their own game studio and make another game? They asked Alex to program, Steven to lead the project and think about the game play design and Dries and Ward to design the soundscape and musical score. Having all previously worked together, they knew they´d make a strong team to take on the world of narrative driven games.
